    Bipolar Harmonic encoding of CMB correlation patterns

    Deviations from statistical isotropy can be modeled in various ways, for instance, anisotropic cosmological models (Bianchi models), compact topologies and presence of primordial magnetic field. Signature of anisotropy manifests itself in CMB correlation patterns. Here we explore the symmetries of the correlation function and its implications on the observable measures constructed within the Bipolar harmonic formalism for these variety of models. Different quantifiers within the Bipolar harmonic representation are used to distinguish between plausible models of breakdown of statistical isotropy and as a spectroscopic tool for discriminating between distinct cosmic topology.Comment: Revised version, accepted for publication in Phys.     Personal Security is one of the main concern when it comes to offices, personal workplace in home, bank etc. Whatsapp/Telegram controlled advanced security system’ is anintegrated security system which provides secured access to the areas where security is the main concern by providing two step verification. This system is an enhancement of the existing finger print based system. The existing finger print based system verifies the finger print of the valid user to provide authorization. But this system takes the finger prints of the user as well as captures image of that person by sensing his/her presence through sensor system and sends results of both finger prints and image to authorized person on his/her whatsapp/Telegram account. Besides this, authorized person also receives alert SMS through GSM along with Whatsapp/Telegram message. Authorized person takes the decision of access on the basis of both the results. If authorized person sends “open” from his/her Whatsapp/Telegram account, door will be opened automatically and access will be provided. If authorized person sends “unauthorized” door will remain shut and hence access will be denied. In this way system provides and ensures the two step verification to provide authorized access

In this paper, we surmise some of the legendary figures in the great Indian epics, who possibly could have disorders related to osteocrinology. Based on the detailed description provided in Vedic texts, these exemplars from Indian history provide an interesting framework for the study of osteocrinology. These may spark an interest in students and researchers to explore and understand this subject in greater depth

    A Low Cost and Computationally Efficient Approach for Occlusion Handling in Video Surveillance Systems

    In the development of intelligent video surveillance systems for tracking a vehicle, occlusions are one of the major challenges. It becomes difficult to retain features during occlusion especially in case of complete occlusion. In this paper, a target vehicle tracking algorithm for Smart Video Surveillance (SVS) is proposed to track an unidentified target vehicle even in case of occlusions. This paper proposes a computationally efficient approach for handling occlusions named as Kalman Filter Assisted Occlusion Handling (KFAOH) technique. The algorithm works through two periods namely tracking period when no occlusion is seen and detection period when occlusion occurs, thus depicting its hybrid nature. Kanade-Lucas-Tomasi (KLT) feature tracker governs the operation of algorithm during the tracking period, whereas, a Cascaded Object Detector (COD) of weak classifiers, specially trained on a large database of cars governs the operation during detection period or occlusion with the assistance of Kalman Filter (KF). The algorithm’s tracking efficiency has been tested on six different tracking scenarios with increasing complexity in real-time. Performance evaluation under different noise variances and illumination levels shows that the tracking algorithm has good robustness against high noise and low illumination. All tests have been conducted on the MATLAB platform. The validity and practicality of the algorithm are also verified by success plots and precision plots for the test cases

    Why Should 5000 Children Die in India Every Day? Major Causes and Managerial Challenges

    Globally, more than 10 million children under 5 years of age, die every year (20 children per minute), most from preventable causes, and almost all in poor countries. Major causes of child death include neonatal disorders (death within 28 days of birth), diarrhea, pneumonia, and measles. Malnutrition accounts for almost 35 % of childhood diseases. India alone accounts for almost 5000 child deaths under 5 years old (U5) every day. India.s child heath indicators are poor even compared with our Asian neighbors, namely Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam, China, Nepal and Bangladesh. Within India, the states of Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh account for almost 60 % of all child deaths India.s neonatal mortality, which accounts for almost 50 % of U5 deaths, is one of the highest in the world. India launched the Universal Immunization Program in 1985, but the status of full immunization in India has reached only 43.5 % by 2005-06. India started the Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) in 1975 to provide supplementary nutrition to children, but 50 % of our children are still malnourished; nearly double that of Sub-Saharan Africa. The WHO/UNICEF training program on Integrated Management of Neonatal and Childhood Illnesses, known as IMNCI, started in India a few years ago, but the progress is very slow. What is unfortunate is the fact that most of these deaths are preventable through proven interventions: preventive interventions and/or treatment interventions, but the management of childhood illnesses is very poor. In this working paper, we bring out the nature and magnitude of child deaths in India (Chapter 1) and then share with you in Chapters 2, 3 and 4 our observations on the management of some of national programs of the government of India such as The Universal Immunization Program (UIP) The Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) The Integrated Management of Neonatal and Child Illnesses (IMNCI) In the final chapter (Chapter 5), we highlight certain managerial challenges to satisfactorily address the child mortality and morbidity in our country.

    Malaria is most commonly found in tropical and sub-tropical countries of Africa. In a year, 3.2 billion people are at risk of getting malaria of which infection occurs in over 200 million of which one million results in death; hence it is one of the most infectious parasite diseases. 90% of the deaths occur in south of Saharan desert and most of the cases are of children under the age of five. In the year 2012, malaria caused estimated total deaths of 627,000.  In the year 2013, malaria caused estimated total deaths of 500,000. 40% of total malaria cases in the world are from Nigeria and the Democratic Republic of Congo (Statistics provided by WHO). These stats strongly suggest the need of a preventive malaria vaccine. Here we analyze the malaria parasite cycle, specifically pre-erythrocytic stage, and present some possible target proteins. We also look at the current options for prevention of malaria

    The EAR Motif in the \u3ci\u3eArabidopsis\u3c/i\u3e MADS Transcription Factor AGAMOUS-Like 15 Is Not Necessary to Promote Somatic Embryogenesis

    AGAMOUS-like 15 (AGL15) is a member of the MADS domain family of transcription factors (TFs) that can directly induce and repress target gene expression, and for which promotion of somatic embryogenesis (SE) is positively correlated with accumulation. An ethylene-responsive element binding factor-associated amphiphilic repression (EAR) motif of form LxLxL within the carboxyl-terminal domain of AGL15 was shown to be involved in repression of gene expression. Here, we examine whether AGL15′s ability to repress gene expression is needed to promote SE. While a form of AGL15 where the LxLxL is changed to AxAxA can still promote SE, another form with a strong transcriptional activator at the carboxy-terminal end, does not promote SE and, in fact, is detrimental to SE development.     Stability of Naked Singularity arising in gravitational collapse of Type I matter fields

    Considering gravitational collapse of Type I matter fields, we prove that, given an arbitrary C2C^{2}- mass function M(r,v)\textit{M}(r,v) and a C1C^{1}- function h(r,v)h(r,v) (through the corresponding C1C^{1}- metric function ν(t,r)\nu(t,r)), there exist infinitely many choices of energy distribution function b(r)b(r) such that the `true' initial data (M,h(r,v)\textit{M},h(r,v)) leads the collapse to the formation of naked singularity. We further prove that the occurrence of such a naked singularity is stable with respect to small changes in the initial data. We remark that though the initial data leading to both black hole and naked singularity form a "big" subset of the true initial data set, their occurrence is not generic. The terms `stability' and `genericity' are appropriately defined following the theory of dynamical systems. The particular case of radial pressure pr(r)p_{r}(r) has been illustrated in details to get clear picture of how naked singularity is formed and how, it is stable with respect to initial data.Comment: 16 pages, no figure, Latex, submitted to Praman
